UAE tax invoice requirements for founders

If you are VAT registered, your tax invoices need the fields the UAE VAT rules require: clear Tax Invoice wording, your TRN, recipient details, line amounts and VAT in AED. EmiraBooks fills those fields on invoices you create. It is not FTA approved software.

Steps

  1. Confirm you are VAT registered and have a TRN.
  2. Put Tax Invoice in a clear place on the document.
  3. Show supplier name, address and TRN; recipient name and address (and TRN if registered).
  4. Add sequential invoice number, issue date, and supply date if different.
  5. Per line: description, quantity, unit price, VAT rate, amounts; totals and VAT in AED.

Foreign currency invoices

If the invoice is not in AED, FTA guidance still expects the VAT amount in AED and the exchange rate used (Central Bank source). Confirm the current Executive Regulation text on tax.gov.ae.

Reverse charge note

Where the customer accounts for VAT under domestic reverse charge, the invoice should state that clearly and point to the relevant VAT law provision. Ask your advisor when that applies.
